We know that nothing feels as empowering as self-confidence. There is a certain sense of satisfaction in being content with your appearance. Today women are much more willing to discuss their cosmetic procedures than their mothers or grandmothers would have been. That’s a good thing. There is no reason to apologize for taking control of your appearance.

Breast augmentation is still one of the most popular of the cosmetic procedures. Some women may be concerned that enhancing their bustline would give them results that look unnatural. You will be pleased to know that your results can look quite natural when you rely on an experienced cosmetic surgeon.

Breast Implants Have Changed

Because of changes in the types of implants used, and even some changes in surgical techniques, you won’t have to worry about breast implants creating an unnatural shape.

Tear-Drop Shaped  Gel Implants

Teardrop shaped implants are shaped like your natural breast. The teardrop shape gives them more fullness at the bottom. These implants will flatten and round when you lie down. They are also referred to as “anatomic” implants for that reason. Teardrop implants are filled with a semi-solid silicone gel that will feel much like firm natural breast tissue.

Gummy Bear Implants

Gummy Bear implants are named after the popular candy because of their texture. Gummy Bear implants are also filled with silicone gel, but the gel holds it shape when cut, just like the candy bears. The shell of the implant is textured to reduce the scarring that can happen around the implant itself. Gummy bear implants have the toughest shell and lowest rupture rate.

 Saline Implants

Saline implants are a silicone shell that is filled with saline at the time of your surgery. The advantage of using a saline implant is they can be inserted through a very small incision. The disadvantage is that saline implants can leak.

Round Implants

Round implants are still available and can be either saline or gel filled. Round implants are ideal when more fullness is needed.
